TRIP TO THE CANADIAN ROCKIES, AB - CANADA

By Art & Linda | Trip to North Vancouver, British Columbia

You answered all our questions and made all the arrangements we requested. It has been a real pleasure dealing with you.

Air: The flights on Air North were very good, service was great. Crew were excellent.

The one thing we found difficult was locating our departure gate in Edmonton. You see, we were feeling kind of low about Bailey, no interest in shopping and such, so we went to the airport many hours before our flight. Turns out that Air North shared a counter with another airline. While the other airline was open, Air North didn't exist. When the other airline closed up shop, they took away their signs and shortly afterward a fellow from Air North came out, brought out their signs and they were open for business. It was kind of funny, actually.

Flights were on time, with only a very short delay departing from Whitehorse.

Train: The tour with Rocky Mountaineer was everything you said it would be, and more. The train trip was fantastic, we had wonderful weather every day. I particularly liked the bagpiper send off in Vancouver. Food was excellent and the crew looked after us very well. They were all so friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the commentary telling us what we were seeing, as well as the history of the areas and of the railroad. Hotels in Kamloops and Banff were both very nice.

Hotel: Best Western in Leduc was a great place to stay. Parking was no charge and the room was very nice. On our second morning we ran out of coffee in our room and phoned the desk. We had some brought to us immediately by someone from the front desk. Great service!

Car: They didn't do pick ups at the car rental place, so we took a cab. We had to take an upgrade on the car model as they were all out of the one we requested. It was a very busy place. The agent gave us a $50 discount on our drop off fee to compensate. We thought that was ok.

The drop off at the airport was incredibly smooth. There was an agent there in the parking area. She checked our gas, took pictures of the car, and we were done. It was grand.

General: Our trip was very, very good. We would recommend it, absolutely. Don't know what the gold leaf hotels would have been like, but since we did little but relax briefly and go to sleep, our hotels suited us just fine.
